About us

 Since 1989, our family-run business has been rooted in the heart of the Bluegrass, growing a passion for landscaping into Georgetown and Lexington's go-to source for top-quality landscape materials and outdoor décor. Founded by Martin Thomas, our journey began with Landscape Alternatives, a successful landscaping service company. For over three decades, we honed our landscape maintenance and construction expertise, serving our community with dedication and skill.

In 2015, we faced a significant challenge when devastating flood waters damaged our facilities and Martin's home. This setback, however, became an opportunity for growth and transformation. Recognizing a growing need in our community for reliable, high-quality landscape supplies, in 2017, we established a specialized mulch and stone sales yard that became Cane Run Mulch and Stone.

Our name, inspired by the beautiful Cane Run Creek flowing through our property, reflects our deep connection to the local landscape and our commitment to providing the finest materials to enhance it. This evolution has allowed us to share our 30+ years of industry insights with professional landscapers and homeowners to help you create the outdoor spaces of your dreams.
